Marriott Bonvoy Announces Plans To Start Apartment Franchise
Multifamily News

Marriott is expanding its Bonvoy brand with a new franchise of furnished apartments — a long-term accommodation with hotel amenities like housekeeping and concierge service.
The major hotel chain has yet to announce the locations of its first serviced apartments in the U.S. and Canada, which will be part of Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy. Marriott has been operating serviced apartments for 26 years in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America.
Luxury Apartments Market
With designs that reflect the local area, the company will introduce luxury apartments at the luxury market level. Also, the apartments will include separate living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, and in-unit washers/dryers.
Ultimately, Marriott plans to capitalize on growing consumer interest in larger rooms and home-like amenities for longer trips by launching Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy.
This model allows Marriott’s owners, developers, and franchisees to convert existing buildings into new brand locations or to build new ones. Additionally, a welcome lounge, gym, and host desk will be part of the building amenities. Unlike hotel establishments, food and beverage service and meeting space will not be provided. On top of that, the buildings will be serviced by one host and weekly housekeeping.
